House Measurement in San Miguel de Allende
When I began listing some homes in the Dallas MLS, I noted that there was great variances in the measurement for the homes of San Miguel de Allende. There were many reasons for the variance. The city official may not have assessed the new addition, human error, different measuring method, etc. I have begun measuring the interior dimensions of the covered portions of the homes to meet the Dallas MLS requirements. I would like to review the math of home measurement:
length x width= Square feet or square meters for rectangles or squares
diameter x 3.14= square feet or square meters for circles
length x width x 1/2= square feet or square meters for triangles
Measure between to interior walls. To convert square meters to square feet, use this formula: square meters x 10.76= square feet
Also I make a drawing of each floor for easy interpretation. I use a laser measuring device for accuracy and speed of doing the work.
